Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Joshua W. Riley ("I," "me," or "my") handles information in connection with this portfolio and creative website (the "Site"). The Site is primarily informational and does not offer user accounts, purchases, or paid services.

Information you choose to provide

If you contact me by email, I receive the information you include, such as your email address, name, message, and any attachments. I use it to read, respond to, and maintain a record of our correspondence where reasonably necessary.

The newsletter form displayed on the Site is not currently connected to an active subscription service. Information entered into that form is not delivered to me through a newsletter provider. If newsletter subscriptions are activated in the future, this policy will be updated to explain the relevant processing before that functionality is used.

Technical information

I do not currently use first-party analytics, advertising pixels, behavioral tracking, or profiling tools on the Site. Like most websites, the hosting and network infrastructure that delivers the Site may automatically process limited technical data—such as an IP address, browser type, requested page, and request time—for security, reliability, and delivery purposes. That processing is controlled by the applicable infrastructure providers.

Third-party features and links

The Site includes links to external websites and optional third-party features. SoundCloud content is loaded when the Music section is visited, and Cal.com functionality is loaded when the Contact section is visited. If you view or interact with those services—or follow links to GitHub, LinkedIn, or another external site—the third party may process information under its own privacy policy and terms. I do not control those services or their data practices.

Cookies and similar technologies

The Site does not intentionally set first-party cookies for analytics, advertising, personalization, or account management. Embedded or linked third-party services may use cookies or similar technologies when their features are loaded or visited, subject to their own policies.

How information is used and shared

I use information you send to communicate with you, respond to requests, protect the Site, and meet legal obligations. I do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Information may be disclosed to service providers when necessary to operate communications or the Site, or when required to comply with law, protect rights and safety, or investigate misuse.

Retention and security

Direct communications are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose of the conversation, legitimate recordkeeping, dispute resolution, or legal compliance. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices and rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you have provided directly to me. Depending on where you live, additional privacy rights may apply. To make a request, email joshua.studio@proton.me. I may need to verify your request and may retain information when legally permitted or required.

Children's privacy

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Site. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to me, please use the contact address below.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the Site's functionality or legal obligations change. The effective date above will identify the latest revision.
